Maarten de BruinThe Acceleration Gap
Facility management · Corporate real estate · Governance

Buildings learned to speak.
Organizations did not learn to answer.

The distance between what a building already shows and what its organization is able to do about it.

I am Maarten de Bruin. I work where continuous building data meets the decision structures that were never designed to receive it, and I am writing a book about what happens in between.

Two curves rising from a shared origin. What a building makes visible rises steeply. What the organization acts on rises gently. The widening space between them is the acceleration gap. WHAT IS VISIBLE WHAT IS ACTED ON the gap 2010 TODAY

Visibility comes first. The ability to act comes much later, if at all.
